Wendy Concklin, the health guru at Northbrook Junior High School, has been making waves in the education community with her innovative approach to student health education. Since 2004, Concklin has been developing a comprehensive health curriculum that has earned her the title of Illinois School Health Educator of the Year.
Concklin’s dedication to her students’ well-being is evident in the success of her classes, which cover a wide range of topics from drug abuse to balanced diets to peer pressure and sexuality. With over 600 students benefiting from her lessons each year, Concklin’s impact on the Northbrook Junior High community is undeniable.
“I feel fortunate to have been trusted to develop a curriculum that meets the Health Education standards in a way that works for me and our kids,” Concklin said. Her commitment to continuously updating her lessons and resources showcases her dedication to providing the best possible education for her students.
