SGMC Health Foundation Invests in State-of-the-Art Cardiac Ultrasound Machine
In a move to enhance cardiac care services, the SGMC Health Foundation has recently acquired a cutting-edge cardiac ultrasound machine, the Philips EPIQ CVx, for SGMC Health Smith Northview. The addition of this state-of-the-art technology comes as a response to the increased demand for imaging services at the hospital since the reopening of emergency and acute-care services in January of 2023.
Echocardiography, a vital diagnostic tool for assessing cardiac diseases, has seen a surge in demand due to the aging population and the prevalence of long-term health conditions. The new Philips EPIQ CVx machine represents a significant advancement in cardiac ultrasound technology, offering superior imaging capabilities and enhanced exam efficiencies.
Tom Gonzalez, Echo Lab Supervisor at SGMC Health, expressed his excitement for the new equipment, emphasizing its potential to improve patient outcomes and shorten hospital stays.
